Mental Health Programme
FFF aim to deliver the Healthy Lifestyle Programmes to staff and service users in a ward based environment.
Our goal is to contribute to the sustainability of a healthier lifestyle amongst adults, through an exercise and education based programme. FFF work with every ward to achieve the objectives and targets with the following aims in mind:
- Improve attitudes to health and diet
- Improve uptake of physical activity
- Raise awareness of the consequences of leading a sedentary lifestyle
- Provide a structured support mechanism for clients on the programmes
- Create an ethos of 'Live for Longevity' amongst clients
The fitness programme for service users and staff includes:
- Weekly physical fitness sessions for both staff and service users.
- Staff training to increase confidence and fitness levels with a designated physical activity coordinator in charge of leading sessions throughout the week and organising and motivating service users.
- Staff Manual with all the necessary components needed to run an exercise session
- Ward DVD that the service users can access when they want to follow a structured exercise programme during the week.
- Advice and guidance given to create a positive and motivational environment.
- An outlined Pathway to Health and Exercise out in the community, which clearly points out where to access social and physical activity clubs, in an illustrated and understandable way.
